By Nanako Takaku
Udon
is a very popular and rather cheap. Thus, you'll find many self-service
udon shops in Japan these days.
Udon
is thick noodles made from wheat. Kagawa Prefecture is the home
of Udon. Udon is usually boiled and served in a large bowl with
hot broth and may include tempura, "abura-age" and many
other things.
There
are many different kinds of Udon such as "zaru udon,"
noodles served on a bamboo sheet, and "kama-age," served
in a deep bowl. Other kinds are "bukake," udon mixed with
other ingredients, meat udon and tsukimi udon. You can even get
frozen udon in the supermarket, so it is easy to prepare.
Udon
is delicious both hot and cold.
