Fast Food
By Chigusa Hisatomi

There are lot of fast food shops in Japan, such as McDonald's, Lotteria, Mos Burger, Mr. Donut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, DomDom and Wendy's.

It is said that the number one fast food shop in Japan is McDonald's. However, according to a survey by myvoice.com that asked people what fast food shop they liked best, the results were that Mos Burger was the number one shop. Mos Burger accounted for 39% of the votes, and McDonald's 37%. The difference between the two is just 2%.

Why do people like Mos Burger? Fifty five percent of the people said the quality of the meals were good and 19% said it was cheap.

The big selling products for McDonald's in Japan are the "Morning set" (breakfast), the "Happy set" and the "Athletic set." Lotteria is known for its "kikkari" set. Mr. Donut has the "kids set."

Mos Burger has two kinds of shops: Experiment shop and Kitchen Mos in Tokyo. In the Mos Burger experiment shop, they sell the original menu, goods, cake and beer. This is a new type of shop in Japan and there are only two of them. They're called "Blue Mos." Many fast food shops change the food they offer according to the season.
